Palmer

Take a historic tour of Fitchburg State and discover another time

… when Palmer Hall stood in Hammond’s place. Though one of the few buildings on campus named after a woman, Palmer Hall served intermittently as a men’s dormitory and hosted naval cadets in our 1940’s flight training program. Find stories here on educator Alice Palmer, Fitchburg architect HM Francis, and how men were second class citizens at the normal school.
